Mission
Mission Statement
The San Diego Regional Clean Fuels Coalition (SDCFC or the Coalition) is supported by and implements the goals of the Department of Energy (DOE) Clean Cities Program. Clean Cities is a federal program to encourage energy efficiency in transportation, reduction of petroleum usage and conversion of vehicles to alternative fuels where economically practical. Members of Coalition support controlling fleet operating costs, improving air quality, and promoting innovative new technologies.
Goals and Objectives
The Coalition is dedicated to working towards its goals and objectives, which are to:
- Increase the use of alternative fuels including ethanol, natural gas, propane, hydrogen, biodiesel, electricity, methanol, and p-series renewable fuels.
- Support the development and expansion of a fueling infrastructure necessary for regular use of alternative fuels.
- Promote other vehicle-related programs such as fuel economy, hybrid and plug-in vehicles, and idling reduction that result in decreased petroleum consumption and reduced emissions.
- Serve its members by disseminating information, organizing workshops, conferences, researching grant opportunities and identifying partnership opportunities.
